The inaugural Baseball5 Danish season, launched in early 2024, featured two tournaments held in different regions of the country, culminating in a national championship in Copenhagen, won by Aarhus Havoc. These events primarily engaged existing baseball and softball players, with 4-5 teams participating in each tournament.

In addition to competitive tournaments, the initiatives -partially funded by WBSC Europe– focused on outreach activities to attract players outside the traditional baseball and softball community. Highlights included Baseball5 demonstrations at Distortion, a street festival in Copenhagen, teaching in schools for about 400 pupils, and introducing baseball5 in multisport clubs.

The second Baseball5 Danish season began in November 2024 with a tournament featuring four teams. Another tournament and a national championship are planned for early 2025. Encouragingly, the second season has already seen participation from new teams, including those outside the baseball and softball circles.

Since the initiative’s inception, Denmark has seen the formation of 10 active teams involving around 70 players, with further growth expected in the coming months.
