Dean Mihos Putting Together Great Offense for Coastal Carolina in College World Series

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers find themselves as one of two teams that will be competing for the 2025 national championship. On Wednesday, the Chanticleers defeated the Louisville Cardinals 11-3.  They had 11 hits in the game, and one of the biggest hits came from designated hitter Dean Mihos. In the fifth inning, the junior hit a two-run triple to extend Coastal Carolina’s lead out to 8-0.

The game against Louisville was not the only time Mihos has come up big offensively. In the Chanticleers’ previous two games in the College World Series, he had four hits. One of those four hits was an RBI double against the Oregon State Beavers.

The play from Mihos has been huge and unexpected for the Chanticleers. Besides the three games he has played during the College World Series, the only other NCAA Tournament game he appeared in was against Fairfield in the Conway regional for one at-bat.

Mihos’ Great 2025 Season

What Mihos is doing in Omaha is a synopsis of what he has been doing all season. He has been a great hitter for the Chanticleers in 2025.

Mihos has a .326 batting average and a .415 on-base percentage. He has 58 total hits this season, with 12 of them being doubles.

The Chester Springs, Pa. native has seen the most at-bats this season out of all three of his seasons in Conway, S.C., and he has shown growth in his game because of it.
