Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Tops Jersey Popularity List For Third Straight Season

Los Angeles Dodgers two-way Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani leads Major League Baseball as the most popular jersey sold for the third straight year, according to MLB’s X account.

The runner-up in MLB jersey sales is his teammate, and fellow Japanese star, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamaoto. Yamamoto and Ohtani have not only played together on the Dodgers, but also for Japan in the last two World Baseball Classics.

The third most popular MLB jersey is New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, who was also the captain for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. Fourth is Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, who was second to Judge in the American League MVP Award voting last season. Fifth is Dodgers infielder Mookie Betts, who puts three Dodgers in the top five of MLB jersey sales.

The sixth most popular MLB jersey belongs to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ newly acquired third baseman, Nolan Arenado. Arenando is a future Hall of Famer and one of the best defensive third basemen of all-time. He played for Team USA when they won the World Baseball Classic in 2017 and was with Puerto Rico in the 2026 edition.

First baseman Freddie Freeman is the fourth Dodger to appear on the list and marks four Dodgers inside of the top seven for MLB jersey sales. Right behind him in the No. 8 spot is another first baseman: Baltimore Orioles’ newly acquired slugger, Pete Alonso.

Two team USA outfielders round out the top 10 in MLB jersey sales with young Boston Red Sox star Roman Anthony at No. 9 and the Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstong.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today revealed the list from 11-20, which starts with Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and Dodgers utility man Kiké Hernández. Hernández is the fifth Dodger on the list, and that makes it five Dodgers in the top 12 of MLB jersey sales.

All players in the top-20 have played in the World Baseball Classic at some point in their careers, and 14 of them were active in the 2026 WBC.
