On Thursday, March 12, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets won their third Atlantic Coast Conference game as they defeated Clemson on the road 10-0. The game ended after seven innings by way of a run rule.
Many Georgia Tech players had great performances. Vahn Lackey and Carson Kerce both had three hits apiece.
However, center fielder Drew Burress was the main attraction as he hit two home runs in the Yellow Jackets’ big win. He also led Georgia Tech in RBIs with three in the game.
Burress and his 2026 season with the Jackets
Burress is off to a great start in his junior season at Georgia Tech. He has a .356 batting average, a .495 on-base percentage, seven doubles, and 17 RBIs.
After his two-home run night against Clemson, Burress is now up to five home runs this season.
He has 49 home runs in his career wearing a Yellow Jacket uniform.
The multi-hit game against the Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium was also the ninth multi-hit game for the centerfielder this season.
It is Burress’ third multi-hit performance in five games dating back to the beginning of last weekend’s series against Virginia Tech.
Burress and his 2026 Draft Stock, up next for Georgia Tech
According to MLB Pipeline, Burress is the fifth-best prospect in the 2026 MLB Draft. He is the third-best collegiate draft prospect behind UCLA’s Roch Cholowsky and Alabama’s Justin Lebron.
Georgia Tech will look to win the series against the Clemson Tigers on Friday, March 13. The game at Doug Kingsmore Stadium begins at 8 p.m. EST.
