The Caneros De Los Mochis will not bring back Jose Angel Moreno as their manager for the 2023-24 Liga ARCO Mexicana Del Pacifico winter league season, despite placing third at the 2023 Caribbean Series in Caracas, Venezuela in February.

Los Mochis will have instead have Felix Fermin, who is in his third season with the Tecolotes De Los Dos Laredos in the Liga Mexicana De Beisbol and a four-time Caribbean Series Champion with Aguilas Cibaenas, as their manager for the upcoming winter league season.

Fermin spoke to the media yesterday after being introduced to the press and stated on the Caneros website, “It’s a challenge, I feel qualified to take it, I know I’m coming to a great organization. I follow winter baseball throughout the Caribbean and I know they had a great season… I know I’ll have a little pressure from the fans, but if you win that you forget and that’s why we’ll go to Los Mochis to try to do our best and have good results.”

Los Mochis appeared in their third Caribbean Series in the history of their franchise during the 2023 tournament in Caracas.  Fermin can bring his knowledge with the experience he has being in the sport for so long to the coaching staff of the organization.

Fermin’s last Caribbean Series championship came in the 2021 tournament in Mazatlan, Mexico, where Aguilas Cibaenas beat Criollos De Caguas of the Liga De Beisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico.

Fermin has managed in Liga Mexicana De Beisbol since 2007, with two other organizations outside of the Tecolotes de Los Dos Laredos organization. He managed two stints with Sultanes de Monterrey from 2007 to 2010 and 2015 to 2017, along with Delfines de Ciudad del Carmen in 2012 to 2014, and won one Serie del Rey title in 2007. In Liga Mexicana Del Beisbol, Fermin’s managerial record is 587-521.

The Liga ARCO Mexicana Del Pacifico will begin its regular season during October.
