The Federacion Nicaraguense De Beisbol Asociada announced the rosters for the 2025 Serie De Las Americas tournament, which will take place from January 24 to 20, and the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers on Thursday, January 9. The press conference was held at Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, Nicaragua, and president Nemasio Porras and manager Sandor Guido were present.
Nicaragua will play in the 2025 WBCQ for the 2026 event next March at the Taipei Dome in Xinyi, Taipei, Taiwan, from February 21 to 25, against host nation Chinese Taipei, Spain, and South Africa.
The second and third-place teams will play in the final qualifier game on February 25. Two qualifiers for the 2026 WBC will be determined at the Taipei Dome, who will finish in first place and be the winner of the second place and third place game.
Fernando Rayo of 8 Deportivo in Nicaragua reported on January 9 that the national team will travel to Japan a week before the 2025 WBCQ and will face the Yomiuri Giants, a Nippon Professional Baseball franchise, in one of their selective warm-up matches. FENIBA has not yet announced other Asian League teams from the NPB, the Korean Baseball Organization, or the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan that they will play prior to the start of the 2025 WBCQ.

Julio Sanchez, Cairo Murillo, and William Calderon will return to the Nicaragua coaching staff for the 2025 SDLA and 2025 WBCQ that were from the 2023 WBC.
The Nicaragua roster for the WBCQ and SDLA will consist of players that have played in the 2024-25 LBPN season, the minor leagues with Major League Baseball organizations, international professional leagues, independent leagues in the United States and Canada, current professional free agents, Nicaragua U23 national team players, and players that have played in the 2024 spring-summer season in the Campeonato German Pomares Ordonez league.
Leo Crawford, Brandon Leyton, Rodolfo Bone, Fidencio Flores, Melvin Novoa, Elian Miranda, Brandon Leyton, and Cheslor Cuthbert will return to the Nicaragua roster from the 2023 WBC to play in the 2025 SDLA and WBCQ.

Rayo confirmed that right-handed pitcher Erasamo Ramirez will not play with Nicaragua in the 2025 WBCQ on January 9.

International Baseball reporter Shawn Spradling and Rayo have referenced that right-handed pitcher Ronald Medrano will play for Nicaragua in the 2025 WBCQ on January 8.

Spradling and Rayo confirmed on January 3 that right-handed pitcher J.C. Ramirez will play for Nicaragua in the 2025 WBCQ and is not yet listed on the roster for February.

FENIBA officials can make changes to the 2025 WBCQ official roster once the 2025 SDLA is finished in Managua on January 30, before traveling to Asia in February.
Nicaragua qualified for their first WBC in 2022 when they beat Brazil 3-1 on the final day of the Qualifiers at Estadio Rod Carew in Panama City, Panama.
Nicaragua went winless at the 2023 WBC in Miami at loanDepot Park against Venezuela, Israel, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic during their first appearance at the event.
Nicaragua has only won eight gold medals at the Central American Games in 1977, 1986, 1994, 2001, 2006, 2013, and 2017 as the highest achievement from their country in international senior tournaments.

The Serie De Las Americas is labeling the event from the formerly-named tournament, called the Latin-American Series, held from 2013-19.
The Latin American Series featured champions from club teams in the winter leagues: the Argentine Baseball League in 2019, Liga Profesional De Béisbol Colombia from 2013-119, the Curaçao National Championship AA League in 2018, the Liga Invernal Veracruzana in Mexico from 2013-19, the Veracruz State League in Mexico from 2017-18, the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional in Nicaragua from 2013-19, and the Panama Probeis league from 2013- 19.
The 2013 and 2019 Latin American Series were held at Estadio Universitario Beto Ávila in Veracruz, Mexico, the 2013 and 2017 tournaments was at Estadio 18 de Junio in Monteria, Colombia; the 2016 and 2018 events were at Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, Nicaragua, and in 2015 it was at Estadio Rod Carew in Panama, City Panama.

Nicaragua will play in the 2025 SDLA event after they played in the 2024 Caribbean Series at loanDepot Park after the 2023-24 season but did not send the winner of their 2023-24 LPBN to the event and went winless in Miami.
The winner of the 2024-25 LBPN regular season will play in the 2025 Serie de Las Americas event hosted by the Asociación De Beisbol De Las Américas committee in January against the winners of the professional leagues with the 2024-25 Liga de Beisbol Profesional Colombia season, the 2024 Liga Argentina de Béisbol winner Club Daom, the 2025 Curacao Professional Baseball league winner, the 2024-25 Panama Probeis league winner Aguilas Metropolitanas, and the 2024 Serie Nacional regular season winner in Cuba, the Lenadores de Las Tunas.
The Tren del Norte and Leones del Leon will represent Nicaragua at the 2025 SDLA Tournament and are currently playing in the LBPN best-of-seven championship series.
The SDLA Tournament will be held from January 24 to 30, 2025, and will be held in three venues in Nicaragua.
The SDLA semifinals will take place on January 29, and the championship game will take place on January 30, according to the schedule listed below.
The SDLA event will be held at the Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, the Estadio Roberto Clemente in Masaya, and the Estadio Rigoberto Perez in Leon, Nicaragua.

The 2026 World Baseball Classic will be in March.
The United States, Italy, Mexico, Great Britain, and a Qualifier nation at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, from March 6-11 in Pool B.
Puerto Rico, Cuba, Canada, Panama, and a Qualifier nation will play in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at Hiram Bithorn Stadium from March 6-11 in Pool A.
Japan, Australia, South Korea, the Czech Republic, and a Qualifier nation will play at the Tokyo Dome from March 5 to 10 in Pool C.
Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Israel, and a Qualifier nation will play at loanDepot Park in Miami in Pool D from March 6-11.
The Quarterfinals of the 2026 WBC will be the Pool A runner-up playing the Pool B winner on March 13, and the Pool B runner-up will play the Pool A winner on March 14 at Daikin Park.
The other side of the Quarterfinals will be on March 13, with the Pool C runner-up playing the Pool D winner. The Pool D runner-up will play the Pool C winner on March 14 at loanDepot Park.
