Five Walk Offs in the Ninth or Later Cap Wild MLB Night

May 13 brought chaos to the late innings across Major League Baseball — five games ended in walk-off hits, including three home runs in the ninth or later.

The action spanned coast to coast, featuring late-inning drama from star players representing four nations.

Javy Báez, representing Puerto Rico, launched a two-run home run to lift the Tigers over the Marlins in Detroit.

In St. Petersburg, Isaac Paredes of Mexico crushed a fastball into the left field seats to win it for Tampa Bay.

Veteran Justin Turner cleared the wall in Milwaukee, lifting the Brewers past Pittsburgh.

In San Diego, Fernando Tatis Jr. smoked a low changeup to left-center, sending Padres fans into a frenzy.

J.P. Crawford ripped a shot into the right field corner, ending things in Seattle.

And just before all that, in a tie game at Rogers Centre, Junior Caminero came up with the bases loaded and launched a grand slam into the Toronto night. It wasn’t a walk-off, but it ended the conversation.

Báez has suited up for Puerto Rico in the 2017 and 2023 World Baseball Classics. Paredes played for Mexico in 2023, helping lead them to a semifinal finish. Tatis Jr., though eligible for the Dominican Republic, did not participate in the last tournament but remains a high-profile candidate for the next one. Crawford has not yet appeared for Team USA in a WBC, while Turner was a member of the 2017 title-winning U.S. squad. Caminero, who just turned 20 last month, could be part of a youth infusion for the Dominican Republic in 2026 if selected.
