The Florida State Seminoles have started Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play on the right foot. The Seminoles won two games against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem.
In those two games, Florida State has outscored Wake Forest 12-0. They have shut down their offense and handed two losses to a team that was 15-2 coming into this weekend.

Wes Mendes Throws 11 Strikeouts in a 10-0 Win
On Friday, March 14, the Seminoles defeated Wake Forest 10-0 in seven innings. Wes Mendes started on the mound for Florida State and had 11 strikeouts as he pitched all seven innings.
Over that same stretch, Mendes allowed just two hits, two walks, and gave up no runs.
Mendes has 23 strikeouts in his last two starts. On March 6 against Northern Kentucky, he had 12 strikeouts.
Florida State is on a roll as ACC play begins for the Seminoles.
Trey Beard Strikes Out 14 as Florida State Wins the Series Against Wake Forest
Trey Beard started on the mound for Florida State on Saturday, March 14. In a 2-0 win for the Seminoles, Beard had 14 strikeouts in 6 ⅔ innings of work.
Over that same stretch, he allowed just one hit, one walk, and gave up no runs.
Beard now has 28 strikeouts in 19 innings of work during his first season in Tallahassee. He transferred to Florida State after playing for Florida Atlantic in 2025.

On Sunday, March 15, Florida State will look to complete a series sweep of Wake Forest.
