Florida State Takes Down Clemson 6-3 and Wins the Weekend Series

CLEMSON, S.C. – On Sunday, May 10, the Florida State Seminoles defeated the Clemson Tigers 6-3 to win the weekend series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The Seminoles’ offense was humming all game as they strung together 15 hits as a team. Florida State also did not surrender a run to Clemson until the fifth inning of the game. By that time, the Seminoles had already put four runs on the scoreboard.

Brody DeLamielleure, John Stuetzer, and Nathan Cmeyla lead Florida State in hitting

Florida State’s three hitting leaders, Brody DeLamielleure, John Stuetzer, and Nathan Cmeyla, led Florida State in hitting during Sunday’s win against Clemson.

All three players had three hits apiece.

Cmeyla hit a home run off the foul pole in right field to start the scoring for the Seminoles.

DeLamielleure has been on a tear for Florida State. He has had multiple hits in six straight games. He has stepped up as one of Florida State’s big hitters in the absence of Myles Bailey.

Stuetzer had two RBIs in the win over Clemson with a sacrifice fly and an RBI knock.

Ben Barrett and Carter McCulley also had multi-hit games for Florida State on Sunday. McCulley had a solo home run in the fourth inning that extended the Seminoles’ lead to 4-0.

Bryson Moore and Brodie Purcell put together great outings

Bryson Moore started on the mound for Florida State against Clemson. He went fairly deep into the game, pitching six full innings. Over that stretch, Moore allowed just one run and struck out four Clemson hitters. He also forced eight fly outs during his outing.

Brodie Purcell closed out the game for the Seminoles and earned his third save of the season. In 1 1/3 innings of work, he allowed no hits and no runs. He also struck out three Clemson hitters while he was on the mound.
