In his junior season, Florida State right-handed pitcher John Abraham has put on a show.
In 12 total appearances and 29 1/3 total innings of work, he has a 0.61 ERA and 43 strikeouts. Abraham has also allowed an opposing batting average of .154.
The right-handed junior’s latest appearance came on Friday, April 3, against the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville.
In that appearance, he pitched a season-high four innings and struck out six hitters. He gave up no runs and walked only two Virginia players.
Abraham and his career, impact on Florida State pitching
Abraham is putting together the best season of his career in Tallahassee. He has already surpassed his strikeout total from his previous two seasons in 2024 and 2025.
During those two previous seasons, Abraham helped the Seminoles get back-to-back super regional appearances. Florida State went to the College World Series during his freshman season in 2024.
Abraham has been a huge part of making the Seminoles a successful pitching team. This season, Florida State ranks second in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in team ERA (3.90). The only team in the conference with a better ERA is the North Carolina Tar Heels (3.48).
Up next for the Seminoles
After a weekend series win against Virginia, the Florida State Seminoles have a 24-7 overall record and a 9-3 record in ACC play.
Their next game is on Tuesday, April 7, against the Florida Gators at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee. The first pitch is at 7 p.m. ET.
In D1 Baseball’s latest top 25 rankings, Florida State is the fifth-best team in the country.
