The Florida Gators have gotten their fill of Brody Donay hitting through their first four games of the 2035 college baseball season.
The Gators’ catcher has four home runs, one in each game they have played, and has an OPS above 2.400. This has also led to 6 RBIs.
He is batting .634 (9-14) in this game and has struck out once in his sample size of at-bats. With three doubles, seven of the nine hits he has are extra-base knocks.
He is currently tied with three other players in division one for the largest home run total this season.
When the SEC released their weekly baseball awards, there was very little doubt that Player of the Week would go to anyone else except Donay. That was indeed the case as he took home the award after college baseball’s opening weekend.
Perhaps this will not be the last time the Florida power-hitter takes home some individual hardware.
These numbers will come back down to Earth for Donay. However, he is on pace to put together a big home run total this season.
In 2024, the Florida catcher had 14 long balls all season. The final two home runs of his season came during the Gators’ blowout win over the Kentucky Wildcats in Omaha during the College World Series.

The Gators’ second mid-week matchup against Florida A&M was rescheduled for Mar. 19. However, they will be back in action this weekend at Condron Family Ballpark for a three-game series against the Dayton Flyers.
The first pitch for the first game of the series on Friday, Feb. 21, will be at 6:30 p.m. E.T.
