D1 Baseball released its newest top 25 college baseball rankings. Four new teams jumped into the top 25 this week and are trending in the right direction.
World Baseball Network takes a look at the newest teams in the rankings.
Alabama Crimson Tide ranked 16th in the country
The Alabama Crimson Tide hop into the rankings as the 16th-best team in the country.
Alabama has been on a tear in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play. The Crimson Tide have won six SEC games in a row in back-to-back sweeps against Florida and Auburn.
The Crimson Tide have a 6-3 record in conference play and are in fifth place in the conference standings.
Next Games: Mar. 31 at Jacksonville State, Apr. 2-4 at Oklahoma
Florida Gators ranked 21st in the country
The Florida Gators are back in the D1 Baseball top 25 rankings and are 21st in the country.
This past weekend, the Gators swept the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road in Fayetteville. This was a much-needed bounce-back after getting swept by Alabama.
During SEC opening weekend, Florida swept South Carolina at Condron Family Ballpark in Gainesville.
Florida now has a 6-3 record in SEC play and are in fourth place in the conference standings.
Next Games: Mar. 31 vs. Jacksonville, Apr. 2-4 vs. Ole Miss
Boston College Eagles ranked 22nd in the country
The Boston College Eagles jumped into the D1 Baseball top 25 and are ranked 22nd in the country.
This comes as a surprise as Boston College ranked in last place in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s (ACC) preseason poll.
However, the Eagles have won back-to-back weekend series over the Cal Golden Bears and Virginia Cavaliers.
On Saturday, March 28, Boston College dominated Virginia 17-0.
Next Games: Mar. 31 vs. Maine, Apr. 2-4 at North Carolina
UCF Knights ranked 23rd in the country
The UCF Knights appear in D1 Baseball’s latest rankings as the 23rd-best team in the country.
The Knights have started Big 12 Conference play hot with an 8-1 record. That stretch of nine games includes series wins over Oklahoma State, TCU, and Arizona.
UCF is currently ranked at the top of the Big 12 standings as well.
Next Games: Apr. 1 at Penn State, Apr. 3-5 at West Virginia
