The 2025 Class for the National Baseball Hall of Fame will have 14 new players who are on the ballot and are eligible to be elected into Cooperstown for this upcoming year.
The Class of 2025 for the National Baseball HOF will be announced on January 21, 2025, on MLB Network at 6 p.m. EST.
The National Baseball HOF induction ceremony will be on July 27, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. EDT on the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown grounds and will be televised on MLB Network.
MLB Network will begin its coverage of the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 11 a.m. EDT on July 27, 2025.
All players who are retired for six years after playing Major League Baseball must receive at least 75 percent of the votes from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America to be inducted into the HOF.
They must also be eligible to be inducted into the HOF if they have played for 10 years in the MLB.
Ichiro Suzuki, C.C. Sabathia, Dustin Pedroia, Adam Jones, Carlos Gonzalez, Russell Martin, Hanley Ramirez, Felix Hernandez, Ian Kinsler, Brian McCann, Fernando Rodney, Troy Tulowitzki, Curtis Granderson, and Ben Zobrist are all the new 14 former players that are on their first-year ballot for the National Baseball HOF in 2025.
Suzuki is the only Japanese-born player on the ballot for 2025 and will be the first player to be in the HOF from Japan once he is inducted into Cooperstown.
Rodney and Hanley Ramirez are the only Dominican Republic players eligible for their first year on the HOF ballot.
Hernandez and Gonzalez are the only players from Venezuela eligible for this first year on the HOF ballot.
Martin is the only Canadian-born player on the ballot for Cooperstown.
All the players that have multiple years on the HOF ballot are Jimmy Rollins and Alex Rodriguez, entering their fourth year; Francisco Rodriguez and Carlos Beltran in their third year; Andy Petitte in his seventh; Andruw Jones and Omar Vizquel in their eighth; Torii Hunter and Mark Buehrle in their fifth, Bobby Abreu in his sixth, Chase Utley and David Wright in their second, Manny Ramirez in his ninth, and Billy Wagner entering his 10th and final year on the ballot.
Francisco Rodriguez, Abreu, and Vizquel are the only players from Venezuela who have been on the ballot for multiple years for eligibility into Cooperstown.
Andruw Jones is the only player from Curacao on the ballot for the HOF that has had multiple years listed.
Beltran is the only Puerto Rico player on the ballot for Cooperstown.
Manny Ramirez stands alone as the only player from the Dominican Republic with multiple years of eligibility to be inducted into the HOF.
Brandon Phillips, Jose Reyes, Jose Bautista, Victor Martinez, Matt Holliday, Bartolo Colon, and Adrian Gonzalez were on the ballot for the first time in 2024 and did not receive 5 percent or higher of the votes from the BBWAA and are not on the HOF ballot for 2025.
Dick Allen and Dave Parker were inducted into Cooperstown for the Class of 2025 on December 8 from the Classic Baseball Era Committee Hall of Fame Electees.
Parker received 87.5% of 14 votes from the Classic Baseball Era Committee, and Allen received 81.3% out of 13.
