Game 5 Rained Out to be Played at 4:07PM EST Today

October 18, 2022 9:30AM EST

Matthew Tallarini, Chief Correspondent World Baseball Network

Rain out of last night’s action moved the matchup for Game 5 today at 4:07 PM EST.  Aaron Boone will now call on Nestor Cortes who is starting on three days’ rest while the Guardians will still need to announce one of their starting pitchers either Aaron Civale or Shane Bieber to shut the door of the League Division Series.  Nestor pitched in game two of the division series going five innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs (one of the runs being a solo home run to Amed Rosario to put Cleveland on the board), giving up three walks, and three strikeouts in a 4-2 loss.

The winner of today’s Game 5 goes onto play the Houston Astros in Game 1 tomorrow in the American League Championship Series.
