Gavin Gallaher has put together two great seasons for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He has a career batting average of .320, a career on-base percentage of .402, and 106 career RBI.
In 2025, he developed a lot more power. Gallaher had 17 home runs compared to just eight he had in 2024.
The third baseman led the Tar Heels in RBI last season and was second on the team in both batting average and home runs.
The junior played a significant role in North Carolina’s massive season. The Tar Heels won 46 games, won an ACC Tournament championship, hosted a regional in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, and made it to a super regional for the third time this decade.
The North Carolina star won his second-straight most outstanding player award in the Chapel Hill regional this past season.
In four games during the 2025 Chapel Hill regional, he had a .722 batting average, 13 hits, seven runs, three home runs, and 10 RBI. Gallaher also hit his first career triple during the regional in a 4-0 win against Holy Cross.
The Apex, N.C.-native has shown that he comes alive in the postseason and is a true NCAA tournament player.
He is a major weapon for the Tar Heels. North Carolina is looking to get back to the College World Series for the 13th time in program history this upcoming season.
