Despite the College World Series having yet to be played, teams who are out of the race for a national championship are preparing for next season.

The Georgia Bulldogs are one of those teams who have been making big splashes in the transfer portal to help gain players to make their 2026 season even better.

Here are a few of the players they have picked up so far, as reported by Dawgs247 on 247sports.com

Japan Native Ishikawa is Heading to Athens – Former Seattle Redhawks two-way talent Kenny Ishikawa announced that he will be transferring to Georgia. He is a native of Yokohama, Japan.

With Seattle, he was the team’s leading hitter with a .318 batting average. While doing that, he also had a 4.21 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 70 1/3 innings of work.

His combined talent with both hitting and pitching make him a spectacular addition for head coach Wes Johnson and his team.

Ishikawa’s great 2025 season landed him a nomination to be first-team All-WAC.

Georgia Adds Stand Out Hitter from New Mexico Lobos – Former New Mexico Lobos player Jordy Oriach had a great 2025 season. He finished with a .388 batting average and an on-base percentage of .470.

The Massachusetts native showed off some power too with 16 home runs this season that contributed to 63 RBI.

Oriach also walked just as much as he struck out in the 214 at-bats he saw with the Lobos.

The New Mexico outfielder was named second-team All-Mountain West this season.

Oriach seems like the kind of player that can thrive playing at Foley Field with good hitting and power in his arsenal.

Veteran Pitcher from New Orleans Privateers Joining Bulldogs – Grant Edwards is heading to Georgia after putting together a great senior season on the mound for New Orleans.

In 15 starts this season, Edwards put up a 4.23 ERA. In 76 2/3 innings, he struck out 92 batters.

In nine out of his 15 starts, the Walker, La. native pitched in six or more innings.

The outstanding season for Edwards allowed him to be named second-team All-Southland Conference.

Georgia Making Moves – After a 43-win season and an NCAA Tournament appearance for the third time this decade, the Georgia Bulldogs are making the jump on improving their team for 2026.

They have been a big winner among all the college baseball teams that are making moves in the portal.
