On Saturday, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets got a run-rule win over the Pittsburgh Panthers as they defeated them 11-1. The win got Georgia Tech their fourth win of ACC play and pushed them to a 16-3 overall record.

The win had a big storyline: Yellow Jackets head coach Danny Hall earned his 1,427th career win, making him the 10th-winningest coach in college baseball history.

He is now among other coaching legends in the top ten in wins, like Florida State’s Mike Martin, Texas’ Augie Garrido, and Stanford’s Mark Marquess.

Hall began head coaching in 1988 with Kent State. He stayed with the Golden Flashes until 1993, when he left to go coach Georgia Tech, where he has been since 1994.

His accolades at Georgia Tech are endless. He is a four-time ACC Coach of the Year, a five-time ACC Tournament champion, and a five-time regular season ACC champion.

He has gotten the Yellow Jackets to Omaha for the College World Series three times, in 1994, 2002, and 2006. In 1994, Georgia Tech finished as the national runner-up, losing to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Hall has led Georgia Tech to the NCAA tournament 24 times, and they have gone to the tournament four times in the past six years.
