Georgia Tech’s Drew Burress Named All-American for Second Straight Season

The All-Americans for the 2025 college baseball season were announced following the season’s conclusion.

For the second straight season, Georgia Tech star Drew Burress was named an All-American by D1 Baseball. He is the only position player to be named an All-American in 2024 and 2025.

This season, Burress had a .333 batting average and a .469 on-base percentage. He also had 19 home runs, 62 RBI, and drew 53 walks. He finished second in the ACC in both home runs and runs scored.

Burress Helped to Make Georgia Tech a Formidable Team in 2025

His efforts offensively for the Yellow Jackets made them arguably the best team in the ACC in 2025.

In 2025, Georgia Tech ranked first in the conference in team batting average (.315). They were also ranked 12th nationally.

The Yellow Jackets finished the 2025 season as ACC regular season champions. It was their first ACC title of any kind since 2014.

A 41-19 overall record and a 19-11 ACC record landed Georgia Tech a spot in the Oxford regional of the NCAA Tournament. It was their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance this decade.

What the Future Holds for Burress

The 2026 season for Burress holds big implications. He is a player who can find himself competing for a shot at being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

Thus, Georgia Tech has one of the best players in college baseball heading into the 2026 season.

The Yellow Jackets’ star was recently invited to play in training camp for the USA Baseball Collegiate National team. Two other Georgia Tech players, Alex Hernandez and Vahn Lackey, were invited to the camp along with him.
