Germany Will Host 2027 Baseball European Championship

The World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe sector announced on June 26 that Regensburg, Germany, will host the 2027 Baseball European Championship at the Armin-Wolf-Arena.

The WBSC has not yet announced the dates of the 2027 BEC.

Armin-Wolf-Arena is home to the Regensburg Guggenberger Legionäre, who play in the Baseball-Bundesliga Division I, operated by the Deutscher Baseball & Softball Verband.

The Armin-Wolf-Arena has hosted the 2009 Baseball World Cup preliminary round and the 2013 and 2023 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers as international senior events.

The 2013 WBCQ was held in 2012, and the 2023 WBCQ was held in 2022.

Armin-Wolf-Arena also hosted the preliminary round group of the 2014 Baseball European Championship 2014 and the 2017 Baseball European Champions Cup.

The venue will also host the upcoming U-18 BEC 2024.

The 2023 BEC, which ran from September 24 to October 1, saw Spain win the gold medal and beat Great Britain 11-2 at YD Baseball Arena in Brno, Czech Republic.

Spain had not won the gold at the EBC since 1955 when they beat Belgium on home soil.

The Netherlands won the bronze medal at the 2023 EBC and beat Germany 5-4 at YD Baseball Arena.

All of the 2023 BEC games took play in the Czech Republic in Eagles Prague in Prague, the Arrows Park Ostrava in Ostrava-Poruba, the BrnoField –“Sportovní areál Hroch” in Brno, and the Třebíč Na Hvězdě in Třebíč, the Strawberry Field in Blansko.

According to the WBSC Europe website. “ The 2025 BEC was previously assigned to Israel, but due to the current political situation, the event will be relocated. Further updates will be provided in due course.”
