The Adelaide Giants have signed three local position players to 2022-23 Australian Baseball League contracts.

Brodie Arriola (Port Adelaide), Griffin Weber (Henley & Grange) and Liam Bull (Henley & Grange) have signed deals.

Arriola, 21, had a standout junior baseball career where he helped South Australia win an Under 16 and Under 18 national title. He cracked the Giants’ opening day roster in the 2021 season and appeared in 18 games where he went 5-for-24. He is perennially one of the best players in the local club competition and cam play outfield or shortstop.

Arriola made his ABL debut as a 15 year old when he memorably went 3-for-5 in his first game.

Griffin Weber (Henley & Grange) is a catcher who will likely slot in behind the pair of Phillies imports coming to man the plate. He can also play outfield. Weber was also part of those National Champion U16 and U18 state teams. Griffin’s father – Burke – also played for the Giants in the 90s.

Weber, 22, has appeared in four ABL games for the Giants since 2017.

19-year-old Liam Bull has also been offered his first ABL contract. He led the team in batting average and slugging in the 2021-22 COVID-impacted exhibition season. Bull has been putting up big numbers for the last three seasons on Henley & Grange’s Division 1 team!

The Giants start their season on 11 November in Perth before returning home on 24 November vs the Melbourne Aces.
