The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are currently spending some time in Japan until November 10.
According to a press release from Hawaii Athletics, the team will spend time around the Tokyo area sightseeing and playing baseball.
On November 7, they will play Waseda University at 10 p.m. EST. Then, on November 8, they will play Keio University. The first pitch for that exhibition game is also at 10 p.m. EST.
In addition to those two games against Waseda and Keio, the Rainbow Warriors will have two practices.
The Rainbow Warriors head coach, Rich Hill, commented on the trip his team will take in Japan.
“What an amazing opportunity for our young people and our university to represent the great state of Hawai’i in Japan, playing two of the top universities in Keio and Waseda,” said head coach Rich Hill. “I’d like to thank Senator Glenn Wakai and Hawaii Tourism Authority [HTA] for their commitment to fostering and furthering relations with Japan in this exciting era.”
Hill is entering his fifth season with Hawaii baseball in 2026. He has led the Rainbow Warriors to 129 wins in his first four seasons.
Hawaii won 35+ games under Hill in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
In 2025, the Rainbow Warriors finished the season 35-21 overall. The team had a 16-14 record in Big West play.
Hawaii finished fourth in the Big West standings behind UC Irvine, Cal Poly, and Cal State Fullerton.
After their trip to Japan, the Rainbow Warriors have another fall exhibition game.
On November 15, they will play the Hawaii-Pacific Sharks. The first pitch for that exhibition game is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST.
Hawaii and Hawaii-Pacific played once last season on April 1. The Rainbow Warriors won that game 10-8 at Les Murakami Stadium.
