Houston’s Tre Broussard is a Top 50 MLB Draft Prospect Heading into the 2026 College Baseball Season

Tre Broussard is heading into his junior season as a top 50 2026 MLB Draft prospect. According to MLB Pipeline, the Houston Cougars’ outfielder is ranked 46th in their 2026 MLB Draft prospects list.  

Broussard and his 2025 Season with Houston 

Broussard was a productive player for the Cougars in 2025. He had a .292 batting average, 12 doubles, seven home runs, and 34 RBI.  

Broussard was a major speed threat for Houston as well. He had 31 stolen bases last season, which was the most on the team and was the second-most in the Big 12 conference.  

He was a solid defender in center field, with 117 putouts and just three errors.  

Broussard’s best game of the 2025 season came on April 8 against the Rice Owls. He had four hits, two RBI, two runs, and stole three bases.  

That game was one of 18 multi-hit games Broussard had last season. He had the most multi-hit games on Houston’s team.  

Great Summer in the 2025 Cape Cod League 

Broussard was one of the most impressive players during the 2025 Cape Cod League over the summer.  

In 71 at-bats with the Harwich Mariners, he had a .296 batting average, seven RBI, and ten stolen bases.  

Broussard was named a Cape Cod League all-star. In the Cape Cod League All-Star Game, he was the East Division Most Valuable Player after a big performance.

In that game, he had three hits in three at-bats. Two of his hits were doubles.

Houston Cougars to Begin 2026 College Baseball Season in Puerto Rico 

Broussard and the Houston Cougars will begin the 2026 college baseball season playing in the Puerto Rico Challenge from February 13-15.  

On February 13, they will play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Ponce. On February 14, they will play the Boston College Eagles in Caguas. On February 15, they will play the Manhattan Jaspers in Ponce.
