International-Born Pitchers Highlight National League Division Series

The National League Division Series round has an abundance of international-born starting pitching talent. New York Mets Kodai Senga, Los Angeles Dodgers Yoshinobou Yamamoto, New York Mets Luis Severino, Philadelphia Phillies Cristopher Sanchez, and San Diego Padres Yu Darvish each made starts over the weekend.

All four teams remaining in the NL played during the MLB international series in the regular season. This is the first time in MLB history that teams have played in an international series and the playoffs in the same year.

Even more unique, Darvish started the first game of the 2024 season against the Dodgers, and Yamamoto started the second game of that series.

World Baseball Network provides a breakdown of the international-born starting pitchers who played on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, during the Divisional Series of the 2024 postseason.
