This week, it was announced that the Iowa Hawkeyes would host the Missouri Tigers for a fall exhibition game at Duane Banks Field on October 4.

For Iowa, this exhibition game will take place between matchups against the Mississauga Tigers on September 22 and the Heartland Community College Hawks on October 10.

As for Missouri, this exhibition game is the only one they have against another opponent outside of themselves.

Breaking Down Missouri and Iowa’s 2025 Seasons

In 2025, the Iowa Hawkeyes finished the season 33-22-1 overall. They were 21-9 in Big Ten play and finished third in the conference standings.

Only the Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins had better conference records.

In the Big Ten Tournament, the Hawkeyes won their first game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. However, back-to-back losses against Indiana and UCLA ended their season.

It was a disastrous season for Missouri in 2025. The Tigers finished 16-39 overall and were 3-27 in conference play. They finished in last place in the SEC.

The NCAA Tournament drought continues for Missouri as the Tigers have not made it to the NCAA Tournament since 2012.

Iowa Pitching Highlighted 2025 Season

Iowa was one of the better pitching teams in all of college baseball in 2025. The Hawkeyes had a 4.16 team ERA, which had them ranked second in the Big Ten. Only Oregon had a better team ERA (4.10) in the conference.

Iowa also ranked 16th in team ERA as a whole.

The Hawkeyes also had the second-most shutouts in the country with nine. The only team in college baseball that had more shutouts was the Northeastern Huskies.
