The Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF) has announced an updated executive leadership slate, marking an important step forward as the organization prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026 and expand its mission-driven work connecting Italy and the United States through baseball and softball, according to posts on the organization’s website and social pages.
Carmine Gangone has been named President, with Chris R. Vaccaro appointed Vice President. The updated executive team also includes Joseph DiMartino as Treasurer, Natalie M. Spedaliere as Secretary, and Dom Scala as Director.
Gangone, who has been involved with IABF’s growth and outreach since 2016 as a co-founder and vice president, said the foundation’s core values continue to guide its direction.
“IABF has always been built on family, loyalty, and shared pride in our heritage and our game,” Gangone said. “I am incredibly grateful for the partnership and service of former president Joe Quagliano, whose dedication helped lay a strong foundation for where we are today. As we move forward, we remain committed to honoring that legacy while building new opportunities for Italian Americans and for the growth of baseball in Italy.”
Vaccaro emphasized innovation, communication, and connectivity as central priorities as the foundation enters its next chapter.
“This next phase is about constant evolution and clear communication between all stakeholders at all levels,” Vaccaro said. “We are focused on developing new mechanisms that better connect both countries through the game we love, whether that’s through storytelling, digital engagement, education, or expanded on-field opportunities. Baseball is the bridge, and we’re committed to strengthening it.”
With new leadership in place, IABF will continue its focused mission of supporting Italian Americans in baseball while helping grow the game throughout Italy. As the foundation approaches its 10-year milestone in 2026, leaders say priorities include launching new initiatives, expanding partnerships, and developing campaigns that further connect Italian Americans and Italians to baseball and softball at every level.
Supporters are encouraged to follow IABF’s platforms and social media channels for updates on upcoming events, initiatives, and programs advancing the foundation’s mission.
