Jackson Chourio is one of the best young players in baseball, and he will make his 2025-2026 winter league season debut for the Aguilas de Zulia on Thursday, per Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional.
Chourio has played in the LVBP since 2021, and it will be his fifth time suiting up for Zulia. The team is currently 24-25, and Chourio is excited to be joining them back in his home country.

“I’m very happy to be back playing in my country, and with my hometown team. I think this is a great opportunity to help my teammates achieve our goal of becoming champions,” Chourio said, according to a Spanish interview with the LVBP.
Chourio has a .293 batting average in his LVBP career. He is the youngest player in Major League Baseball history to have multiple seasons with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.
In two seasons with the Brewers, he has 42 home runs, 157 RBIs and 43 stolen bases. He is one of their best players and has a career OPS of .272. What excites Brewers fans about Chourio most is the fact that he has been one of their best players in the biggest moments.

In 12 postseason games, he has a 1.044 OPS and four home runs. He played through a nagging hamstring injury last postseason and still excelled on the big stage. He missed some time with an injury during the regular season, so his health in his upcoming LVBP stint will be worth monitoring.
He is capable of lifting the Aguilas de Zulia up in the standings, but an injury to him could derail the Brewers’ season before it even starts. Chourio is also a name to watch as Venezuela puts together its team for the World Baseball Classic.
