The offseason spotlight in Puerto Rico turns toward José Berríos on December 13, 2025, when the La Makina Foundation hosts its annual Dream Home Run Derby & Celebrity Softball Game at Estadio Municipal Roberto Clemente Walker.
The event has become one of the island’s most anticipated year-end celebrations, bringing together Major League stars, rising prospects, and artists for a full-stadium community day built around baseball, entertainment, and youth outreach — the core of Berríos’ mission through the La Makina Foundation and his El Dream initiative with Jays Care.
This year’s edition is billed as the Team Rubio Edition, with Berríos uniting players from the past, present, and future to support programs that expand youth access to equipment, facilities, and training across Puerto Rico and Canada. Proceeds benefit Challenger Baseball, Girls At Bat, RBI, and multiple renovation projects pushed forward by the foundation.
Gates open before the 4 p.m. start, with fan activities, youth engagement stations, and on-field appearances scheduled throughout the afternoon. Tickets are available now through Ticketera.
Updates and announcements can be found on the foundation’s Instagram and Facebook pages. Those interested in supporting on-site can register through the foundation’s volunteer form.
Additional information about projects, donations, and future events is available at lamakinafoundation.com. World Baseball Network will continue to follow event developments as December 13 approaches.
