Sultanes de Monterrey right-hander Juan Gamez has been named as a replacement for RJ Alaniz of the Acereros de Monclova on the Mexico national team roster for the 2025 Liga Mexicana de Beisbol All-Star Game. Alaniz was removed due to an apparent arm injury, the league announced June 26.
The 2025 LMB All-Star Game will take place Sunday, June 29, at 9 p.m. EDT at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helu in Mexico City.
All events related to the LMB All-Star Game will be broadcast on LMB.tv and YouTube at LMB Oficial, and coverage will continue throughout the rest of the season until the final out of the Serie del Rey in September.

Gamez, 31, was born in Tucson, Arizona, and has spent five seasons in the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol with the Sultanes de Monterrey—debuting in 2019 and returning from 2021 through 2025.

So far this season, Gamez owns a 3-1 record with a 1.19 ERA across 25 appearances, pitching 22.2 innings with 15 hits allowed, three earned runs, one home run, nine walks, 14 strikeouts, and a 1.059 WHIP.
From 2021 to 2025 with Monterrey, he posted a 7-6 record and 3.40 ERA in 105 appearances, tallying 10 saves across 95.1 innings with 86 hits, 36 earned runs, five homers, 42 walks, 77 strikeouts, and a 1.343 WHIP.
According to Baseball Reference, in 2019—prior to the COVID-19 cancellation—Gamez went 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA over 46 appearances, throwing 46 innings with 38 hits, 18 earned runs, one home run, 24 walks, 31 strikeouts, and a 1.348 WHIP.
