Kansas Jayhawks on a Six-Game Winning Streak, Sit on Top of the Big 12 Standings

The Kansas Jayhawks swept the Kansas State Wildcats in a three-game series this past weekend at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan.

The three wins against Kansas State tacked on to what is now a six-game winning streak for the Jayhawks. Kansas is now 17-4 in Big 12 play, and they sit alone at the top of the conference standings.

The Arizona State Sun Devils and UCF Knights sit three games back from them, tied for second place.

Major midweek win over Nebraska, huge climb in college baseball’s top 25 rankings

Before the wins over Kansas State, the Jayhawks picked up a big midweek win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lawrence.

This was a major top-25 win. Nebraska is 16th in the country according to D1 Baseball’s recent top 25 rankings.

As for Kansas, they shot up D1 Baseball’s recent top 25 rankings and are now 11th in the country.

Before the midweek win over the Cornhuskers, Kansas also grabbed back-to-back wins over the Oklahoma State Cowboys and picked up a series win at O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater.

Jayhawks set up to make back-to-back NCAA Tournaments

In 2025, Kansas made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in over a decade. They had a 43-17 overall record and were 20-10 in Big 12 play.

There are three wins away from tying their Big 12 win total from a season ago, with nine games left in conference play.

Currently, Kansas has a 33-11 overall record. They also have the second-most quad one wins of any team in college baseball, with 12.

With the Jayhawks on pace to win the Big 12 regular season title, they have solidified a resume fit for making the NCAA Tournament again.

This would be the first time in program history that Kansas makes back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.

Up next for Kansas

The Kansas Jayhawks will face off against the Wichita State Shockers on Tuesday, April 28. The game is at Eck Stadium in Wichita, and the first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET.
