KBO: Lion’s Star Koo Ja-wook to Miss At Least Next Two Games

Though the Samsung Lions breezed to a 10-4 win on Tuesday to take a 2-0 series over the LG Twins, they were struck a blow with an injury to one of their top players. Outfielder Koo Ja-Wook suffered a knee injury in the victory and will miss at least the next two games after traveling to Japan for treatment.

Koo is coming off a fantastic regular season, hitting .343 with 33 home runs and 115 RBI. The 31-year-old outfielder picked up right where he left off in the first two games against the Twins, collecting four hits in his first five at-bats before departing Game Two after just one plate appearance.

The Lions will now look to close out the series without one of their best hitters and advance to the Korean Series against the Kia Tigers, where there is hope that Koo can return. The second-round action will resume on Thursday from LG’s Jasmil Baseball Stadium at 5:30 a.m. EST.
