The NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization will play all their remaining home games in the 2025 season at Ulsan Munsu Baseball Stadium, the team announced Thursday.
The Dinos’ home stadium, Changwon NC Park in Changwon, was the site of a tragedy on March 29, when a female fan was struck by a falling panel during a game against the LG Twins. Two days later, the fan died of a head injury.
The KBO plays a 144-game regular season. Since March 29, the Dinos have not played at Changwon NC Park, instead playing all their games on the road, where they’ve gone 14-14. They are 1-4 at Changwon NC Park this season, and have won five straight games heading into Friday’s game against the Doosan Bears.
Meanwhile, the Dinos and the local government have conducted safety inspections at the ballpark, according to Yoo Jee-ho of Yonhap News Agency, and the club and government have yet to agree on when Chongwon NC Park will reopen.
“With the support of the KBO, we explored several options and decided on Munsu Stadium after talks with the city of Ulsan,” Dinos CEO Lee Jin-man told Yonhap News Agency. “Ulsan has agreed to handle maintenance and management of the stadium. I’d like to thank the city for their active cooperation.”
The 11,000-seat Ulsan Munsu Baseball Stadium is 11 years old, and has previously hosted KBO games as an alternate home for the Lotte Giants. It is about 45 miles northeast of Changwon.
