The Korea Baseball Organization’s (KBO) 2025 All-Star Game is fast approaching. The Nanum and Dream All-Star teams will meet on July 12 at the Hanwha Eagles’ new stadium in Daejeon, Daejeon Baseball Dream Park.

Similar to Major League Baseball, a fan voting system elects the starting players. Eagles fans will be happy to learn that their star, one of the best relievers in the KBO, made headlines for his total number of votes.

It’s time to check in on more of the latest news from the top professional baseball league in South Korea, the KBO.

Kim Seo-hyeon Sets All-Star Voting Record – Eagles closer Kim Seo-hyeon set the KBO record for All-Star votes, with 1,786,837 selections made by fans and 220 votes made by teammates and opponents.

Kim’s new record of votes was 373,115 votes more than the previous mark set by the Kia Tigers pitcher Yang Hyeon-jong in 2022. Kim, age 21, has 18 saves and a 1.51 ERA in 37 games this season with the Eagles.

Players from the Eagles, LG Twins, NC Dinos, Kiwoom Heroes, and NC Dinos will play for the Nanum team at the All-Star Game. Players from the Samsung Lions, Lotte Giants, KT Wiz, Doosan Bears, and SSG Landers will play for the Dream All-Star club.

Former Five-Year MLB Veteran Throws Seven Scoreless InningsLogan Allen didn’t experience the most success during his time in MLB from 2019 to 2024. The lefty had a career 5.79 ERA in 45 games with the Cleveland Guardians, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, and Baltimore Orioles.

He’s performing better in South Korea, where he’s making a name for himself with the Dinos. On Sunday, Allen threw seven shutout innings and struck out six in a 2-0 win over the Wiz. The Dinos are 4-1 in their last five games.

For the season, Allen is 4-7 with a 3.29 ERA in 16 starts, averaging seven strikeouts per nine innings.

Twins and Wiz Make Trade – On Wednesday, the Twins acquired infielder Cheon Seong-ho and catcher Kim Jun-tae from the Wiz in exchange for relief pitcher Lim Jun-hyong

“Cheon Seong-ho is a capable hitter who can also run the bases. He’s been swinging the bat well in the minors, and he can jump right back into KBO action,” the Twins said in a statement announcing the trade, per Yoo Jee-ho of Yonhap News Agency. “We expect him to take the next step as he competes for playing time with younger players on our team.”

The Wiz were in search of another pitcher to strengthen their bullpen.

“Lim Jun-hyong has good command of his pitchers, and his changeup and curveball are especially sharp,” Wiz general manager Na Do-hyun told Yoo. “We needed a left-handed pitcher in our bullpen, and we expect him to strengthen our relief corps.”
