Kentucky’s Tristan Hunter and Tyler Cerny have stood out during their time playing summer league baseball. Here is a look at how each player did during their summer seasons.

Tristan Hunter Shines in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League

Hunter was a standout arm during his run in the Perfect Game Collegiate League. He played for the Amsterdam Mohawks, a team that had the best record in the league during the 2025 season (31-11 overall).

In six total appearances and 17 1/3 innings of work, he had a 2.65 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts. He also allowed an opposing batting average of .141.

In his first season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Hunter came out of the bullpen and made nine total appearances. He had a 4.76 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work.

Hunter had more strikeouts than walks for Kentucky in his limited time on the mound in Lexington in 2025.

Tyler Cerny’s Bat Comes Alive in the MLB Draft League

Cerny hit the ball well in his summer league season for the West Virginia Black Bears in the MLB Draft League.

In 91 at-bats, he had a .341 batting average with nine doubles and nine RBI. He was also a threat on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.

By the end of the summer, Cerny led the MLB Draft League in batting average and OPS (.924). He also had the second-most doubles out of any player in the league.

Cerny is transferring to Kentucky after completing three seasons with the Indiana Hoosiers.

In his career with Indiana, he finished with a .292 batting average, 199 total hits, 47 doubles, 30 home runs, and 135 RBI.
