Kollin Ritchie and Pitching Stand Out for Oklahoma State in a 11-1 Win over Vanderbilt

ARLINGTON, Texas – On Sunday, February 15, the Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 11-1 in eight innings.

Center fielder Kollin Ritchie and the Cowboys’ pitching staff stood out with great performances in the win over Vanderbilt.

Ritchie doubles and hits a home run in Oklahoma State’s first win of 2026

Ritchie had the biggest impact on offense for the Cowboys in their win at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown on Sunday.

The center fielder finished with six RBIs on three hits. Two of his three hits were home runs. His second home run in the eighth inning, which was 392 feet, ended the game by way of the NCAA run rule.

Ritchie talked about his big game against Vanderbilt and what the team did to improve itself offensively on Sunday.

“I think we slowed everything down and became more comfortable in the box,” Ritchie told WBN. “Our timing got better, and the results followed after that.”

Ethan Lund and Noah Wech Combine for 12 Strikeouts

Oklahoma State pitching was a big story in the win over the Commodores.

Ethan Lund got the start for the Cowboys and threw eight strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of work. He allowed no hits and no runs over that stretch as well.

Noah Wech came in for Lund and had a great outing. He earned the win and had four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings of work.

Wech only allowed one hit, which was a home run by Vanderbilt’s Logan Johnstone. It came in the seventh inning and was the first hit of the game for the Commodores. Johnstone’s home run was also the only run of the game for Vanderbilt.

Up next for Oklahoma State

The next game for the Oklahoma State Cowboys will be against the Grand Canyon Antelopes on Thursday, February 19.

The first pitch is at 8 p.m. EST, and the game will be played at Brazell Field in Phoenix, Ariz.
