LAMP: Aguilas de Mexicali Top Sultanes de Monterrey in Lone Monday Contest

Aguilas de Mexicali 3, Sultanes de Monterrey 1 – Luis Santos’ tripled in the top of the ninth, sending Julian Leon home with an insurance run for the Aguilas, who improved to 2-1 on the young season. Starter Fernando Lozano allowed four hits and two walks in five innings of work, striking out three, and six Mexicali relievers combined to four hits and a run over four innings. Carlos Sepulveda drove in Monterrey’s lone run with a single in the bottom of the ninth.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Deactivated IF Aldo Flores and RHP Mario Garcia, who are both eligible to be reactivated October 15. Activated IF Bobby Bradley and LHP Faustino Carrera.
