LAMP: Caneros de Los Mochis Edge Yaquis de Obregon; Tomateros Win Second Straight For Bundy

Caneros de Los Mochis (24-19) 2, Yaquis de Obregon (27-16) 1 – Alejo Lopez went 2-for-4 and scored the game-winner in the bottom of the ninth, scoring on Isaac Rodriguez’ single to give the Caneros the win over the top team in the league. Omar Araujo threw five scoreless innings for Los Mochis, allowing three hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Nick Williams drove in the Caneros’ first run in the fifth with a single. Sebastian Elizalde’s eighth-inning triple scored Alfredo Hurtado with the only run of the night for Obregon.

Aguilas de Mexicali (22-20) 4, Tucson Baseball Team (14-28) 3 – Norberto Obeso went 3-for-3 and scored twice, Yadir Drake drove in two runs, hitting a sac fly in the fifth to score Moises Gutierrez and a triple in the eighth to bring home Ren Tachioka. Jose Urena and Missael Rivera each had an RBI for Tucson, which fell to 1-6 in the second half, 4 1/2 games out of first place.

Tomateros de Culiacan (23-20) 9, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (24-19) 8 (11 Innings) – Ramon Rios’ single in the bottom of the 11th got the Tomateros their second win under new manager Lorenzo Bundy. J.P. Martinez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, hitting a three-run homer in the sixth, while Joey Meneses went 3-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs, hitting a two-run homer in the first and a double that scored Martinez to tie the game in the ninth. Jesus Loya went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs in the loss for the Naranjeros.

Charros de Jalisco (23-20) 11, Venados de Mazatlan (15-28) 9 – Julian Ornelas went 3-for-4, scored twice, and drove in two runs for Jalisco, which won its second straight game after starting the second half 1-5. Bligh Madris went 2-for-5 and scored twice with and RBI, and Jared Serna drove in a pair of runs with a fifth-inning single. Juan Kirk, Edwin Espinal, and Leo German each hit solo homers for the Venados, who are 3-5 in the second half.

Algodoneros de Guasave (16-27) 3, Jaguares de Nayarit (26-17) 2 (10 Innings) – Phillip Ervin’s 10th-inning single scored Leo Heras from third with the game-winner as the Algodoneros squeaked by the Jaguares Wednesday night. Ervin also drove in Guasave’s other two runs with a homer in the bottom of the first that scored Drew Avans. Carlos Sepulveda and Jacob Rhinesmith each had RBI singles for Nayarit.

Transactions For Dec. 3

Aguilas de Mexicali – Traded LHP Jesús Gámez to the Cañeros de Los Mochis for IF Marco Jaime. Retroactive to Nov. 28, IF Luis Santos has been placed on the inactive roster. He may be activated on Dec. 4, and LHP Tomás Solís has been added to the active roster. Retroactive to Dec. 1, IF Gilberto Carrera has been placed on the inactive roster. He may be activated on Dec. 4, and RHP Sergio García-Repper has been added to the active roster. Retroactive to Dec. 1, OF Manuel Orduño has been placed on the inactive roster. He may be activated on Dec. 6, and IF Marco Jaime has been added to the active roster.

Tucson Baseball Team – Retroactive to Nov. 29, deactivated LHP Daniel Zazueta, who may be activated starting Dec. 4, and LHP Eduardo Mares is added to the active roster. Retroactive to Dec. 1, deactivated C Francisco Pérez, who may be activated starting Dec. 4, and RHP Carlos Bustamante is added to the active roster.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo – Deactivated RHP Augusto Mendieta, who may be activated starting on Dec. 4, and RHP Orlando González takes his place on the active roster.

Yaquis de Obregon – Retroactive to Nov. 30, deactivated OF Zoilo Almonte, who may be activated starting Dec. 5, and C Fernando Villalobos is added to the active roster.

Caneros de Los Mochis – Deactivated LHP Rigoberto Borbolla, who may be activated starting on Dec. 4, and RHP Yahir Gámez is added to the active roster.

Tomateros de Culiacan – Fired coach Héctor Rodríguez. Retroactive to Nov. 28, RHP Cristhofer Lozoya has been placed on the inactive roster. He will be eligible for activation starting Dec. 4, and RHP Axel Sauceda is added to the active roster.

Venados de Mazatlan – Deactivated RHP Jonathan Bernal, who may be activated on Dec. 4, and his place on the active roster is taken by RHP Erick Rodríguez.

Jaguares de Nayarit – Retroactive to Nov. 26, RHP Marco Fregozo is on the inactive list. He is eligible to be activated on Dec. 4, and OF Randy Romero is added to the active roster. Retroactive to Nov. 30, IF José Robledo has been placed on the inactive list. He is eligible to be activated on Dec. 4, and LHP Omar Sainz has taken his place on the active roster.

Charros de Jalisco – Released C Arturo Rodríguez. Deactivated IF Luis Martínez, who may be activated Dec. 4, and RHP Axel Muñoz takes his place on the active roster.
