Tomateros de Culiacan (31-21) 2, Tucson Baseball Team (17-35) 1 (10 Innings) – A two-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th by Poncho Ruiz got Luis Verdugo home with the game-winner as the Tomateros won their fifth straight game, making them 11-1 since Lorenzo Bundy took over as manager. Verdugo also tied the game in the bottom of the eighth with a solo homer, and Culiacan starter Manny Barreda threw six innings, allowing one run on six hits and two walks, notching six strikeouts. Gaige Howard’s solo homer for Tucson was the only blemish on his outing. Mark Simon allowed four hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking one, striking out three, and allowing the homer to Verdugo.
Jaguares de Nayarit (30-22) 10, Venados de Mazatlan (18-34) 4 – Aaron Zavala went 2-for-4, scored three times, and drove in four runs, clubbing a three-run homer in the top of the first and drawing a bases-loaded walk in the top of the ninth as the Jaguares stomped the Venados. Jacob Rhinesmith hit a solo homer and scored twice, Brandon Villareal hit an RBI double and scored twice, and Carlos Sepulveda scored three times for Nayarit. Ramiro Pena hit a solo homer and Andres Alvarez hit a three-run homer, both in the fourth, for Mazatlan.
Yaquis de Obregon (30-22) 7, Algodoneros de Guasave (19-33) 2 – Roberto Valenzuela and Victor Mendoza each hit solo homers for Obregon in the bottom of the second, and Sebastian Elizalde hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth as the Yaquis passed the 30-win mark. Veteran starter Odrisamer Despaigne threw seven innings for the Yaquis, allowing one run on six hits and two walks, striking out five.
Charros de Jalisco (29-23) 10, Caneros de Los Mochis (28-24) 8 – Bligh Madris hit his eighth homer of the year, a three-run shot in the fourth, as the Charros handed the Caneros their fifth straight loss. Reynaldo Rodriguez went 3-for-4 and scored twice, and Ronald Medrano, who will play for Nicaragua at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, allowed three runs on three hits over seven innings for the Charros. Yurisbel Gracial, Rodolfo Amador, and Juan Uriarte each drove in two runs for the Caneros, and Uriarte hit a solo homer in the ninth.
Aguilas de Mexicali (28-24) 2, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (30-22) 0 – The Aguilas got six scoreless innings from David Reyes, and three relievers combined to allow just one hit over the final three innings as Mexicali pinned a rare shutout on Hermosillo. Yadir Drake hit into a fielder’s choice at short, allowing Julian Leon to score, and then Drake came home on a double by Philip Evans to give the Aguilas a 2-0 lead that held up. Wilmer Rios allowed two runs on six hits, striking out three over seven innings for the Naranjeros.
