Caneros de Los Mochis 2, Naranjeros de Hermosillo 1 – Alan Espinoza and Roel Santos each had a two-out RBI single in the eighth to push the Caneros past first-place Hermosillo. The third straight win put Los Mochis just two games behind Hermosillo and Jalisco in the second half. Fredy Quintero allowed one run on five hits over six innings for Los Mochis, and the bullpen allowed one hit and one walk over the final three innings.
Charros de Jalisco 11, Mayos de Navojoa 1 – Michael Wielansky went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, two walks, and four RBIs, as the Charros won their third straight game and pulled into a tie for the second half lead at 14-6. Daniel Castro went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Manny Banuelos allowed one run on eight hits and two walks, striking out five for Jalisco.
Yaquis de Obregon 10, Tomateros de Culiacan 1 – Culiacan didn’t get a run across until the ninth, when it was far too late, and the loss keeps the Tomateros in a tie for ninth in the second half. Allen Cordoba went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored for Obregon, which is 9-11 in the second half.
Aguilas de Mexicali 9, Algodoneros de Guasave 0 – Four different Mexicali batters each drove in two runs as the Aguilas romped over Guasave Saturday night. Norberto Obeso and Jose Salazar each went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and David Reyes threw seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits, walking three and striking out eight.
Venados de Mazatlan 8, Sultanes de Monterrey 4 – Manuel Flores allowed three hits over five scoreless innings, and the Venados distributed their offense across the lineup, with six different players driving in runs in the win against Monterrey. Juan Kirk went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI for Mazatlan.
