LAMP: Caneros Spoil Yaquis’ No-Hit Bid; Charros Score Seven In 10th To Top Venados

Caneros de Los Mochis (8-6) 3, Yaquis de Obregon (9-5) 2 (11 Innings) – Asael Sanchez hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th that scored Eric Filia with the game-winning run as the Caneros climbed into a tie for second place, besting the Yaquis after Obregon starter Felipe Gonzalez took held them hitless through six innings. Gonzalez threw six scoreless innings, allowing a single walk and striking out five. Braulio Cavero’s two-run homer in the fifth gave Obregon a 2-0 lead, but Rodolfo Amador’s two-run single, just the second hit of the night for the Caneros, tied the game in the seventh.

Tomateros de Culiacan (8-5) 9, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (9-5) 8 – The Naranjeros jumped out to a 5-0 lead int eh bottom of the first on an RBI double from Harold Ramirez and a pair of two-run singles from Willie Calhoun and Agustin Murillo, but couldn’t make that lead hold up. In the bottom of the third, Culiacan got four runs to cut into the lead, with J.P. Martinez hitting a sac fly, Jon Singleton contributing a two-run double, and an RBI single from Joey Meneses sent home Singleton. After Hermosillo’s Edson Garcia tied the game at eight with a sac fly in the seventh, Culiacan’s Luis Verdugo tripled home the go-ahead run in the eighth.

Tucson Baseball Team (6-8) 7, Aguilas de Mexicali (8-6) 6 – Samar Leyva went 3-for-3 and Bobby Bradley went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, with Bradley scoring two runs and Leyva scoring three, as Tucson got past Mexicali in the series finale. Cade Gotta went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a solo homer in the bottom of the first for Mexicali. Garrett Alexander threw 1 2/3 innings in relief, earning his third save of the season for Tucson.

Charros de Jalisco (9-5) 13, Venados de Mazatlan (3-11) 7 (10 Innings) – The Charros waited until the 10th to break the game open, scoring seven in the top of the extra frame to put the win away and enter a three-way tie for first place. Reynaldo Rodriguez, Carlos Mendivil, and Daniel Castro each had RBI singles and Bligh Madris hit a two-run double in the top of the 10th for the Charros.

Jaguares de Nayarit (7-7) 15, Algodoneros de Guasave (3-11) 2 – Brandon Villareal and Ricardo Valenzuela each went 4-for-5, with Villareal scoring three runs and driving in four and Valenzuela scoring one and driving in three as the Jaguares mauled the Algodoneros.
