LAMP: Charros de Jalisco Win Sixth Straight, Sweep Tucson Baseball Team With 6-5 Win

Jaguares de Nayarit (35-24) 5, Yaquis de Obregon (33-26) 0 – Ricardo Valenzuela had an RBI double in the first and a two-run double in the seventh, and Brandon Villareal chipped in an RBI single in the seventh. Aaron Zavala capped the four-run seventh for the Jaguares with a double that scored Valenzuela. Starter Tyler Jandron allowed five hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings, striking out two for Nayarit, and the bullpen allowed one hit while maintaining the shutout to the end.

Charros de Jalisco (35-24) 6, Tucson Baseball Team (19-40) 5 – Alejandro Osuna went 3-for-3, scored twice and had two RBIs as the Charros edged the Baseball Team to sweep the series and win their sixth straight. In the second, Osuna got Jalisco on the board with a triple that scored Reynaldo Rodriguez, and he had an RBI single and a stolen base in the third. Mateo Gil’s sac fly in the top of the eighth brought in Osuna with the go-ahead run. Ramon Mendoza’s 12th double of the season for Tucson brought in two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Tomateros de Culiacan (34-25) 8, Algodoneros de Guasave (21-38) 0 – Dwight Smith Jr. went 2-for-3 and scored twice, Joey Meneses had two hits, scored and drove in a run, and the Tomateros pitchers held Guasave to just six hits and three walks as they took the final game of the series. Starter Fineas Del Bonta-Smith threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk and recording six strikeouts.

Aguilas de Mexicali (30-29) 7, Caneros de Los Mochis (33-26) 2 – Cade Gotta, Raudy Read, Wynton Bernard, and Irving Lopez each had two hits as the Aguilas soured the Caneros’ Sunday afternoon. Aguilas starter Cesar Vargas allowed one run on two hits over six innings, walking two and striking out four, the lone run scoring on Yurisbel Gracial’s fourth-inning groundout to short with runners at the corners that scored Isaac Rodriguez. Alejo Lopez homered in the eighth for Los Mochis.

Venados de Mazatlan (20-39) 7, Naranjeros de Hermosillo (35-24) 6 – Miguel Guzman went 3-for-4 and scored twice, and Miles Simington went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, and two RBIs as the Venados picked up their 20th win of the season. Estamy Urena hit a two-run homer in third for Mazatlan. Harold Ramirez went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Hermosillo.
