Jaguares de Nayarit (39-25) 8, Caneros de Los Mochis (35-29) 7 (10 Innings) – A 10th-inning sac fly by Justin Wylie got the Jaguares past the Caneros, who coughed up a 7-3 lead over the final three innings. The Caneros scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, getting RBI doubles from Eric Filia, Yurisbel Gracial, and Juan Uriarte, but Nayarit tied the game in the top of the eighth behind an RBI single from Wylie and a three-run homer from Jose Orozco.
Naranjeros de Hermosillo (38-25) 2, Tucson Baseball Team (21-42) 1 – Starter Wilmer Rios allowed eight hits and a walk over six innings for Hermosillo, but Tucson was able to muster just one run on a sac fly by Angel Ramirez in the fifth despite going 4-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Ramon Mendoza tied the game in the bottom of the sixth for Hermosillo with a double that scored Samar Johnson, and Willie Calhoun’s 11th homer of the season scored the go-ahead run.
Yaquis de Obregon (37-27) 7, Venados de Mazatlan (21-43) 3 – Allen Cordoba hit a two-run single in the bottom of the second, and Jose Gaitan followed him with a homer, giving the Yaquis a 6-0 lead after just four batters had been retired, a lead that held up behind a quality start from Odrisamer Despaigne. Despaigne threw seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks, fanning five. Fabricio Macias and Estamy Urena homered for Mazatlan.
Tomateros de Culiacan (37-27) 4, Aguilas de Mexicali (32-32) 1 – Homers from Fernando Flores, J.P. Martinez, and Dwight Smith Jr. powered the Tomateros past Mexicali on Boxing Day. Flores hit a two-run shot in the second, while Martinez and Smith each hit a solo homer in the seventh. Former Major Leaguer Luis Cessa threw five innings for Culiacan, allowing one run on four hits and four walks, striking out two.
Algodoneros de Guasave (23-41) 10, Charros de Jalisco (36-28) 1 – Leo Heras hit an RBI triple that touched off a six-run inning for the Algodoneros as they blasted the Charros. Heras finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Orlando Pina and Esteban Quiroz each finished the game with a pair of hits.
