LAMP: Joey Meneses Hits League-Leading Eighth Homer In Tomateros de Culiacan’s 28th Win

Tomateros de Culiacan 3, Sultanes de Monterrey 1 – Joey Meneses drove in all three of Culiacan’s (28-13) runs with a three-run homer in the fourth, his eighth of the year, giving him sole possession of the league lead. Jose Bravo allowed one run on four hits, striking out five for the Tomateros, the one run coming on a solo homer from Monterrey’s Alejandro Mejia in the second. Monterrey is 13-28 on the year, 15 games back of Culiacan, and 1-5 in the second half.

Charros de Jalisco 2, Yaquis de Obregon 1 – A solo homer by Tirso Ornelas in the seventh was the difference for Jalisco, which improved to 21-20 with the win. Billy Hamilton scored Jalisco’s other run, scampering home on a wild pitch in the top of the first. Obregon’s lone run came on a sac fly by Jose Carlos Urena in the bottom of the first.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 2, Mayos de Navojoa 1 (10 Innings) – Irving Lopez drove in Angel Camacho with the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th with a single to center as the Naranjeros improved to 4-2 in the second half. Bobby Bradley drove in Navajoa’s (1-5 second half) only run with a sac fly in the first.

Caneros de Los Mochis 3, Algodoneros de Guasave 2 (10 Innings) – Eric Filia went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th with a single to left field. The Los Mochis bullpen didn’t allow a baserunner over the final four innings.

Aguilas de Mexicali 4, Venados de Mazatlan 3 (10 Innings) – Jose Antonio Felix’s 10th inning single sent the fans in Mexicali home happy, as Antonio Castaneda came in to score the game-winning run on the one-out hit. Leo Heras went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Mazatlan, which fell to 1-5 for the second half.

Caneros de Los Mochis – Received C Xorge Carrillo on loan from the Sultanes de Monterrey. Deactivated C Logan Moore, who can be activated December 3, and added OF Justin Dean to the active roster. Deactivated OF Roberto Castro, who can be activated November 29, and added C Alan Espinoza to the active roster.

Aguilas de Mexicali – Deactivated RHP Patricio Ress, who may be activated November 29, and added RHP José Luis Reyes to the active roster.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo – Deactivated infielder Willie Calhoun, who can be activated December 3, and added RHP Curtis Taylor to the active roster. Deactivated LHP Javier Rodríguez, who may be activated December 29, and added RHP Aníbal Cervantes to the active roster. Deactivated RHP Augusto Mendieta, who may be activated December 29, and added C Daniel Mercado to the active roster.

Yaquis de Obregon – Deactivated IF Kennys Vargas, who can be activated December 3, and added OF Taiki Sekine to the active roster.

Mayos de Navojoa – Retroactive to November 23, deactivated RHP Jorge Luis Sauceda, who may be activated  November 29, and added RHP Esteban Bloch to the active roster.

Algodoneros de Guasave – Deactivated RHP Víctor Buelna, who may be activated November 29, and added RHP Rafael Córdova to the active roster. Deactivated RHP Manuel Castro, who may be activated November 29, and added RHP Juan Cosio to the active roster. Deactivated IF Justin Wylie, who can be activated December 3, and radded RHP Grant Gavin to the active roster.

Venados de Mazatlan – Deactivated RHP Luis Escobar, who may be activated December 8, and added RHP Óscar Rojas to the active roster.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Deactivated RHP Alexis Vera, who may be activated November 29, and added RHP Ricardo Chapa to the active roster.
