LAMP: Joey Meneses Wins 2024-25 MVP; Robert Stock Is Pitcher of the Year

The Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico has announced the winners of five postseason awards, with Joey Meneses taking home the 2024-25 MVP Award.

Meneses had a strong winter season that got him an invite to Major League spring training with the New York Mets. He batted .320/.386/.511 in 62 games with the Tomateros de Culiacan, clubbing 10 homers and driving in 58 runs. The native of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico has appeared in parts of the last three seasons with the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball, batting .274/.322/.408 with a .731 OPS, 29 homers and 165 RBIs in 265 MLB games.

Robert Stock of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo was named pitcher of the year after going 10-2 with a 1.60 ERA over 14 starts, striking out 78 and walking 36 in 84 1/3 innings of work.

Former New York Met Stephen Nogosek won reliever of the year after making 31 appearances and throwing 32 1/3 innings for the Tomateros de Culiacan with a 1.39 ERA and 18 saves. He also made four appearances for Mexico at the Caribbean Series, going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA.

Luis Enrique Gastelum, a St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect, won the LAMP’s rookie of the year award after posting a 1.82 ERA over 24 2/3 innings and 24 appearances. This spring, Gastelum has made three appearances in spring training for St. Louis, throwing 2 1/3 innings with a 3.86 ERA.

Charros de Jalisco skipper Benji Gil was named manager of the year in the LAMP after leading the Charros to a league title and the 2025 Caribbean Series title game.
