LAMP: Jose Samayoa Throws Allows Two Hits, Two Walks In Hermosillo’s 6-0 Shutout

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 6, Aguilas de Mexicali 0 – Jose Samayoa threw eight innings, allowing two hits and two walks, as the Naranjeros improved to 6-2 in the second half with a shutout of Mexicali. Jasson Atondo went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs. Norberto Obeso and Alex Mejia each had singles for Mexicali.

Algodoneros de Guasave 5, Sultanes de Monterrey 2 – Jorge Flores went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the first, two runs scored, and a walk as the Algodoneros improved to 5-2, a half-game back of Jalisco and Hermosillo. Alejandro Mejia hit his sixth homer of the season for Monterrey in the loss, as the Sultanes fell to 1-6 in the second half.

Charros de Jalisco 10, Tomateros de Culiacan 7 – Michael Wielansky went 3-for-4, scored three runs, and drew a walk as the Charros improved to 23-20 on the season and sit tied for first with Hermosillo at 6-2 in the second half. Reynaldo Rodriguez went 2-for-5 for Jalisco, driving in three runs and scoring one. Efren Navarro clubbed a three-run homer in the ninth for Culiacan.

Caneros de Los Mochis 4, Mayos de Navojoa 0 – Starter Omar Araujo went six innings, allowing a hit and a walk and striking out seven, and the Caneros’ bullpen allowed one hit and a walk in three innings of work while striking out five in a shutout of Navojoa. Rodolfo Amador went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, hitting a solo homer in the fifth and smacking a two-run single to center in the sixth.

Yaquis de Obregon 11, Venados de Mazatlan 3 – Victor Mendoza went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, two walks, three RBIs and three runs scored as the Yaquis roughed up the Venados, who fell to 3-5 in the second half. Allen Cordoba had three RBIs, including two from his eighth-inning homer.
