Caneros de Los Mochis 7, Mayos de Navajoa 6 – Roel Santos’ solo homer in the bottom of the ninth gave the Caneros a 7-6 win, a 2-0 start to the 2024 LAMP season, and capped a 3-for-5 night for the center fielder. Matt McDermott went 4-for-5 with two RBIs for Navajoa.

Venados de Mazatlan 3, Charros de Jalisco 1 – Alex Liddi drove in a run in the fourth with a sacrifice bunt and another in the eighth with a sacrifice fly as the Venados improved to 2-0. Daniel Castro drove in Reynaldo Rodriguez with a single in the second for Jalisco’s only run.

Tomateros de Culiacan 7, Algodoneros de Guasave 4 – The Algodoneros got a run in the eighth and three in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough. Cristian Santana’s two-run homer in the first put the Tomateros up 3-0, and Rudy Martin’s two-run double in the second gave them all the runs they’d need. Santana went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Victor Castaneda threw six shutout innings for Culiacan, allowing one hit, striking out five and walking four.

Aguilas de Mexicali 4, Sultanes de Monterrey 1 – Connor Capel’s two-run single in the first gave the Aguilas an early lead that held up. Capel went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Adrian Martinez allowed two hits and one run over five innings of work as the Aguilas improved to 1-1.
