LAMP: Middle of the Pack Tightens With Six Games Remaining In First Half

Tomateros de Culiacan 9, Mayos de Navojoa 6 – Cristian Sanatan drove in a pair of runs with a single in the first inning and went 2-for-4 at the plate as the Tomateros bounced back with their 22nd win of the year. Culiacan starter Aldo Montes allowed six runs on six hits in five innings, but the Tomateros bullpen bailed him out, allowing three hits over four scoreless innings. Matt McDermott hit a three-run homer in the third for Navojoa.

Aguilas de Mexicali 8, Caneros de Los Mochis 5 – Moises Gutierrez hit a grand slam for Mexicali in the bottom of the first, and Norberto Obeso went 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Aguilas improved to 15-12. Eric Filia went 1-for-4 with two RBIs for Los Mochis, which fell to 17-11, five games back of first place Culiacan.

Naranjeros de Hermosillo 7, Sultanes de Monterrey 3 – Agustin Murillo drove in a pair for Hermosillo with a third inning single, and Alfonso Rivas had a two-run single in the sixth as the Naranjeros notched their 16th win of the year. The Sultanes stranded 10 runners as they fell to 7-21 on the year.

Venados de Mazatlan 3, Charros de Jalisco 2 – The Charros saw their eight-game winning streak snapped, as Mazatlan got a strong performance from starter Pablo Tellez, who went six innings, allowing one run on two hits, walking two and striking out five. The Charros manufactured a run in the top of the ninth and had the tying run on third base when Michael Wielansky grounded out to end the game.

Algodoneros de Guasave 6, Yaquis de Obregon 1 – Justin Wiley and Narciso Crook each had solo homers for Guasave, which got back to .500 at 14-14 with the win. Jorge Flores drove in three runs for the Algodoneros, one with a sac fly in the first and two more with a triple in the eighth.

Aguilas de Mexicali – Deactivated OF Alejandro Mejía Abreu, who may be activated November 18, and added OF Antonio Castañeda to the active roster.

Mayos de Navojoa – Deactivated RHP Damián Mendoza, who can be activated November 14, and added IF Edgar Lugo to the active roster.

Algodoneros de Guasave – Deactivated RHP Manuel Castro, who may be activated November 14, and added RHP Víctor Buelna to the active roster.

Tomateros de Culiacan – Deactivated RHP Axel Sauceda, who may be activated November 14, and added RHP Carlos Machorro to the active roster. Deactivated RHP Rubén Reyes, who may be activated November 14, and added RHP Luis Aguayo to the active roster.

Sultanes de Monterrey – Retroactive to November 11, deactivated IF Juan Mora, who may be activated  November 16, and added OF Joshua Stowers to the active roster.
