Leading the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico with four homers through the first 11 games of the season, Leonys Martin of the Caneros de Los Mochis was named LAMP Player of the Week.
A native of Villa Clara, Cuba, Martin hit four homers last week and batted .455 with seven RBIs in six games for the Caneros, who went 4-2 last week, including a three-game sweep of the Venados de Mazatlan on the road.
The other finalists for player of the week were Jalisco’s Bligh Madris, who had two homers and 10 RBIs in five games, and Edwin Diaz, also of the Charros, who had two homers, nine RBIs and a .471 average last week.

Pitcher of the Week – Jaguares de Nayarit pitcher Faustino Carrera won the LAMP’s Pitcher of the Week award for after two solid outings against the Tomateros de Culiacán and Charros de Jalisco. In 12 innings of work over the two starts, he posted a 2.25 ERA with nine strikeouts.
Also nominated for Pitcher of the Week were Obregon’s Odrisamer Despaigne, who won both his starts, throwing 11 2/3 innings with a 3.09 ERA, and Aldo Montes of the Tomateros de Culiacan, who threw 10 1/3 innings with a 1.74 ERA and five strikeouts in two starts.
Reliever of the Week – Naranjeros de Hermosillo closer Matt Foster was named the LAMP’s Reliever of the Week after recording three saves in three opportunities and threw 3 1/3 innings with two strikeouts, allowing a single run as Hermosillo went 4-2 against Obregon and Los Mochis and rose to first place last week.
Foster, who played parts of four seasons in Major League Baseball with the Chicago White Sox from 2020-24, leads the league in saves, having converted all four opportunities he’s had, with a 1.42 ERA and a 1.580 WHIP.
