Yaquis de Obregon (12-6) 8, Charros de Jalisco (12-6) 6 – The Nos. 3 and 4 hitters in the Yaquis’ lineup, Sebastian Elizalde and Roberto Valenzuela, again sparked Obregon’s offense. Elizalde hit a solo homer and a sac fly and Valenzuela went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, hitting an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the eighth as Obregon climbed into a three-way tie for first place. Bligh Madris had a double and a sac fly for Jalisco in the loss.
Caneros de Los Mochis (12-6) 8, Tomateros de Culiacan (9-9) 5 (10 Innings) – Asael Sanchez hit his league-leading fifth home run of the season, and Carlos Soto sent the Caneros fans home happy with a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th that ended the game and got Los Mochis into a three-way tie for first. Eric Filia went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, driving in runs with a pair of singles. Joey Meneses hit a three-run homer, and Luis Verdugo hit a solo homer in the fifth and tied the game at five apiece with another solo homer in the ninth for the Tomateros.
Naranjeros de Hermosillo (10-8) 9, Algodoneros de Guasave (5-13) 3 – Harold Ramirez went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs as the Naranjeros breezed by Guasave, hitting a three-run homer in the third and an RBI single in the fourth. Kristian Delgado hit a two-run homer in the first and Alan Espinoza hit a solo homer for Guasave in the eighth.
Jaguares de Nayarit (10-8) 10, Tucson Baseball Team (6-12) 2 – Jacob Amaya homered twice, scored three times and drove in four as the Jaguares torched Tucson for 10 runs on 14 hits. Amaya’s two-run homer in the second tied the game at two, and his solo homer in the sixth was Nayarit’s 10th run of the game. Tucson managed just five hits and stranded four runners in the loss, their fourth straight.
Venados de Mazatlan (5-13) 2, Aguilas de Mexicali (9-9) 1 – Ramiro Pena went 1-for-3 and drove in both of Mazatlan’s runs, hitting a single in the bottom of the fourth that scored Jose Gaitan and drawing a bases-loaded walk in the seventh that pushed Brayan Quintero across the plate. Starter Javier Solano threw seven scoreless innings for the Venados, allowing four hits and walking one with two strikeouts.
