Naranjeros de Hermosillo 6, Tomateros de Culiacan 2 – The Naranjeros drew even with the Tomateros in the overall season standings, taking game one of the three-game set between the two teams to improve to 30-18 on the season. Former Chicago Cub Patrick Wisdom’s first homer of the year tied the the game at two apiece in the fourth, and Jose Samayoa threw seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits for Hermosillo, which leads the second half by three games with an 11-2 record.
Caneros de Los Mochis 8, Charros de Jalisco 7 (10 Innings) – Eric Filia, Yasmany Tomas, and Justin Dean each contributed a solo homer for the Caneros, who got the game-winner in the 10th when Marco Jaime singled home Dean with the winning run. Los Mochis improved to 8-5 in the second half, tied with Guasave and Jalisco for second place in the second half.
Algodoneros de Guasave 2, Venados de Mazatlan 1 (10 Innings) – Yadir Drake singled home Drew Avans with the go-ahead run in the 10th to draw the Algodoneros into a three-way tie for second. Ramiro Pena drove in Guasave’s other run with a single in the first.
Yaquis de Obregon 3, Aguilas de Mexicali 1 – A wild pitch in the eighth allowed Kevin Villavicencio to score and tie the game, and Roberto Valenzuela followed with a two-run double that put the Yaquis ahead for good. Former New York Yankee Luis Cessa threw five innings, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts for Obregon.
Mayos de Navojoa at Sultanes de Monterrey – This game was rained out and has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 7, as part of a single-admission doubleheader.
