LAMP: Naranjeros Roll Past Tucson to Improve to 4-1 Behind Hall’s Grand Slam; Caneros Win In 11

Naranjeros de Hermosillo (4-1) 5, Tucson Baseball Team (1-4) 3 – Darick Hall hit his second homer of the season, a sixth-inning grand slam, and Augustin Murillo had an RBI single in the top of the ninth as Hermosillo took the final game of their road series against Tucson, which was played in Hermosillo due to Tucson’s visa issues. Aldo Nunez hit Tucson’s first homer of the season, a solo homer in the seventh. Gaige Howard went 3-for-5 with two doubles for Tucson, and starter Carlos Tavera threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits, a walk, and striking out six.

Caneros de Los Mochis (3-2) 6, Jaguares de Nayarit (3-2) 5 (11 Innings) – Eric Filia’s 11th inning sac fly scored Marco Jaime with the game-ending run as the Caneros improved to 3-2. Designated hitter Josh Rehwaldt homered and drew three walks for the Caneros, and Asael Sanchez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored. Jacob Rhinesmith hit a two-run homer for Nayarit.

Tomateros de Culiacan (3-2) 4, Aguilas de Mexicali (2-3) 2 – A solo homer in the bottom of the first by J.P. Martinez got Culiacan on the board, and an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth by Alex Solis gave the Tomateros a two-run cushion, with Anthony Gose allowing a hit and striking out two in the ninth to close out the win. Yadiel Hernandez hit a solo homer in the top of the eighth for Mexicali, his first of the season.

Yaquis de Obregon (3-2) 9, Venados de Mazatlan (1-4) 3 – Juan Carlos Gamboa went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs and Allen Cordoba went 2-for-5 with two runs scored as the Yaquis cruised past the Venados. Ramiro Pena doubled in the sixth and scored on Fabricio Macias’ sac fly for the Venados.

Algodoneros de Guasave (2-3) 8, Charros de Jalisco (3-2) 5 – Jorge Flores went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Yael Flores drove in three runs as the Algodoneros won the series finale in Zapopan. The Charros’ Jared Serna went 3-for-4, scoring a run and missing only a home run to hit for the cycle, and Reynaldo Rodriguez hit his first homer of the year, a two-run shot in the fourth.
